Face Mug Sculptures with Camp Peace

We were thrilled to collaborate with Georgia State University in order to host an event for students of  Camp PEACE. The goal of Camp PEACE, is to unite children that have witnessed or suffered from Domestic Violence, and provide them with doses of summertime fun! With our expertise in the fun department, eager volunteers and our amazing artist Sabrina Barilone, we started our face mug sculptures.

Sabrina expertly gave the Paint love team and GSU volunteers intricate directions on how to achieve a sturdy mug. After the instruction, we broke into groups with Camp PEACE students and witnessed their masterpieces unfold. The students brainstormed on how their mugs should look and got straight to work with the assistance of helpful volunteers. The steps took some time, from molding and cutting the clay, to drying the colorful painted faces. Overall the process was well worth it. The end result was beautiful.

GSU 1010 students provided encouragement and insight to the upcoming youth of Atlanta. Even bonding over simply things like their favorite basketball player, infamous Steph Curry!

The feeling of accomplishment and pride poured from Camp PEACE's students. We are so happy to be apart of this summer series for such wonderful children. Look out for our upcoming weekly workshops, with more talented Paint Love Artists!
