Wilderness Works provides at-risk children a place to find caring adults and fun activities that teach and reach. Their mission is to empower and enrich disadvantaged and at-risk children living in urban Atlanta with year-round experiential education, recreation and outdoor adventure. Wilderness Works is a youth development agency serving homeless and disadvantaged children living primarily in Dekalb and Fulton counties.
Provided at the City Camp facility in Atlanta, City Camp serves elementary aged children. City Camp provides fifty at-risk children a twenty-hour enrichment experience with three wonderful meals provided by civic and corporate partner groups. City Camp includes a Friday overnight stay with background checked, trained chaperones. City Camp always includes a field trip to area venues, parks, and museums. City Camp occurs on multiple weekends across school season months and helps leaders spot potential campers for summer camp opportunities.
All volunteers must be 18 years old and must have a background check on file with Paint Love.
